M&S has revealed the opening date for its brand-new M&S Food on Bravo Way in Derriford, twice the size of its current Crownhill store.
The 14,000 sq ft store will stock the retailer’s entire food catalogue and open its doors to customers on Wednesday 20th November at 9am.
M&S’ Crownhill foodhall, located opposite, will close the evening before, with colleagues moving over to the new store. The opening at Derriford has created 42 new local jobs, part of a 100-strong store team.
Inside the brand-new M&S Food, customers can find a bigger and transformed in-store bakery, serving a selection of delicious pastries and bread, including the retailer’s signature Collection Sourdough, with each loaf taking 30 hours to produce.
As well as a range of fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from the retail’s 8,000 Select Farm partners – including 400 across Devon – customers can browse dedicated the Flower and Wine shops.

Customers can find over 100 everyday Remarksable Value staples in-store – price benchmarked against key competitors but with an M&S quality point of difference.
M&S Plymouth Derriford is one of nine new foodhalls M&S is opening this financial year. The retailer has three stores in Plymouth (Cornwall Street, Bravo Way and a convenience store in Plymouth Hospital) and over 45 stores across the South West, employing more than 4,000 colleagues in the region in total.

The Derriford store team is continuing to work with food redistribution platform Neighbourly to support Devon and Cornwall Food Action, a local charity working to eradicate food poverty. Since 2015, the M&S team at Crownhill have donated the equivalent of 270,000 meals to the charity.
