Jabulani Launches Crowdfunding Campaign to Build a Zero-Carbon Community Health Hub in Stonehouse

Jabulani is excited to announce the launch of its crowdfunding campaign to build a zero-carbon Health Hub in Stonehouse. This community-driven initiative will create a multicultural food court and social space constructed from donated and reused materials, fostering health, sustainability, and social unity. With a target of £60,000, Jabulani aims to transform Stonehouse into a vibrant hub for well-being and cultural exchange.

Jabulani CIC is a thriving, multicultural hub featuring a food court with small start-up units led by BAME entrepreneurs, offering fresh, diverse food to Stonehouse and the wider community.

Jabulani CIC currently operates as a multicultural food court supporting BAME entrepreneurs and providing diverse, affordable food to the community. With our latest expansion, they are aiming to transform an unused site on Union Street into a vibrant, health-focused green space that combines food, culture, wellness, and sustainability.

This expansion will include areas for nutritious food, spaces for relaxation and community events, and green landscapes that promote well-being and connection for everyone in the area. We are just about to launch our crowdfunder!

The mission for “Jabulani 2.0” is to address urgent community needs by creating a safe, inclusive space that fosters physical, mental, and social health. Plymouth’s statistics show pressing needs for affordable health and wellness resources, and our project strives to make a difference, especially for those facing health or financial challenges.

The new space will host well-being activities, yoga sessions, and health workshops, fostering social engagement and active lifestyles. Regular access to this green space will offer community members a sanctuary to relax, connect, and thrive.

By transforming this space, they hope to give Stonehouse residents access to resources that promote healthier lifestyles in a welcoming outdoor environment.

Supporters can contribute through the campaign on Crowdfunder, which runs until November 25, 2024.
