As the summer months approach, the magic of outdoor cinema is set to return to Plymouth, offering film lovers a chance to experience classic movies under the stars with Adventure Cinema.
Outdoor cinema has become a cherished part of the Plymouth’s summer, bringing communities together to enjoy films in scenic locations. Plymouth’s stunning waterfront, provided an idyllic backdrop for an evening of entertainment for Plymouth Arts Cinema’s Screenings at the Tinside Lido.
Now Adventure Cinema, the UK’s largest outdoor cinema tour, has announced its most ambitious season yet, with over 300 screenings across more than 60 locations nationwide. While the tour will visit grand venues such as Alnwick Castle and Kew Gardens, its stop in Plymouth promises a special experience for local audiences.
The event will be held at the Saltram House Mansion which adventure cinema described as:
‘ideal for a night of cinematic escapism under the open sky!’
The Grade I-listed mansion is renowned for its striking architecture and often referred to as one of Devon’s most impressive country houses.
The event will be held in front of the mansion, with parking available free of charge for cinema guests at the main entrance. The venue is fully accessible, with a short, wheelchair-friendly path leading from the car park to the screening area and accessible toilet facilities on-site.
Guests are welcome to bring their own picnics, although hot food and snacks will also be available for purchase at the event. To promote sustainability, attendees are reminded that only plastic and paper cups are permitted—no glass containers. While dogs are not allowed (except for assistance or guide dogs), the event remains open to all.

Patrons can pre-order Snacking Treat Bags, which include a selection of sharing snacks, along with the official Adventure Cinema 2025 Season Programme and blankets to enjoy during the film.
With tickets starting at just £9.50, the event remains an accessible option for families and film enthusiasts alike. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic, though on-site food and drink options will also be available.
