Plymouth City Council is working hard to keep refuse collections running as usual, despite the coronavirus outbreak.
Residents should continue to put out their green and brown bins on their normal collection days. (Don’t forget collections will be one day later than usual during the week beginning Monday 13 April, due to the Easter break.)
Bags containing used tissues should be placed inside another bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste. This should be put aside for at least 72 hours before being put in your usual external household waste bin.
Help keep yourselves and crews safe by cleaning your bin handles after putting bins out for collection and bringing them back in – and always remember to wash your hands.
Please don’t put DIY waste in bins. The Council’s advice is to postpone clear-outs and projects that will generate extra waste until after the restrictions are lifted.
Residents are being thanked for doing their bit and are asked to continue minimising waste, recycling and composting as much as they can during this challenging time.
A number of operations have been temporarily suspended to keep core services running.
• Weston Mill and Chelson Meadow recycling centres are closed
• Garden waste collections will not resume in April as planned
• Bulky waste have been suspended and all bookings cancelled
• The Council is not accepting requests for new or replacement bins and bags
