A team of young footballers from Barne Barton are celebrating after having their kit sponsored by a Plymouth company.
Plymouth Kolts Junior Under 14s, who play their matches at Bull Point, had been in the same kit for two years – and some of it was getting way too small for them.
Raia Berriman from Plymouth Kolts said:
“I was struggling to find a sponsor for the kit and had approached more than 20 companies without success. But I was delighted when MEP Systems stepped in with their sponsorship – which meant the parents didn’t have to pay for the kit themselves.”
MEP Systems, which is a mechanical and electrical contracting company based in Estover, saw a post from a parent and stepped in to help the boys get a new kit.
Raia added:
“MEP Systems were really accommodating in paying for the kit and asking for nothing return. It has given the boys a real boost and sense of pride.”
The team plays in the Devon Junior and Minor Under 14s League.
