Plympton May Fair returned after a three year absence because of COVID – and the brilliant weather attracted big crowds to the event.
The event, organised by Plympton Community Council, was held in and around Harewood House and attracted an attendance of around 800 people on the day.
Local organisations and groups were able to showcase their work and products and there was plenty of entertainment to keep the crowds happy.
Displays by young people from the Starlite School of Dance proved especially popular, as did music from the Plympton Ukulele Band and Plympton Samba Band. Coleen Harrington’s Zumba session was well attended too.
Local crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Devon & Cornwall Police were also in attendance.
Plympton Stannator Pastor Arno Bessel and Youth Ambassador Bel Windsor-Maloney arrived in a classic Ford Mustang to officially open the fair. A number of classic vehicles were on display on the day.
Pauline Kadoche from Plympton Community Council said:
“It was a fabulous day with great weather and bumper crowds. It was the ideal opportunity for families to get out and enjoy the occasion.”
