To mark the development, the group held a launch event at the Murray Volkswagen showroom on Millbay Road on the 4th December. Staff from across the Murray brands in the city were in attendance as well as the Plymouth Chronicle and select other local businesses.

The evening, run by members of Brand Biscuit Studio, was one of celebration and collective pride in the development of Murray Group.

Speaking with the Plymouth Chronicle, Murray Group Managing Director Kevin Murray described how he hadn’t known much about Plymouth at all when he first had the opportunity to work in the region over 20 years ago.

“The addition of Kia and Hyundai to the Murray Group marks a significant moment for our business,”

“We are thrilled to extend the Murray brand to these outstanding manufacturers and look forward to bringing even more value to ourcustomers. We especially thank our amazing teams at Rodgers of Plymouth for coming along the journey with us.”

Kevin moved from the South East and soon fell in love with Plymouth and the surrounding area and set about developing the Murray brand locally.

From conversations on the night it was clear there is very much a sense of community amongst the team, one which has been maintained as the company has grown.

The desire for the Rodgers of Plymouth team to be brought into that same sense of community at Murray Group is clear and was self evident at the launch event.

In addition to Plymouth, the group has showrooms in Newton Abbot and Brixton and now employs over 250 people in the region. It is a passion of Managing Director Kevin Murray that the company invests in the training and development of all their staff. A passion which only aids the sense of cohesion amongst the team.

The acquisition of Kia and Hyundai in Plymouth is a significant milestone in the work Kevin started in the early 2000s and positions Murray Group as a prominent car dealership in the South West.
