The Our Space Production Company returns with a bold, new piece of theatre, Domestication.
Premiering in The Drum from Thursday 17 – Saturday 19 July 2025, the show named Domestication is a tapestry of episodic moments centred around a Hen Do, exploring nightlife and the fantastical things that can happen when we step out of our comfort zone.

‘I have a recurring dream
That I slip through the bars
Of a cage my mother built for me.
Back to the wild with all the other escaped savages
Each of us tearing off the costume of sad lives and bad marriages’
The company has been assembled through Theatre Royal Plymouth’s outreach programme, Our Space, which works with adults who have lived experience of homelessness, mental health, addiction, reoffending or social isolation.

The Our Space scheme provides individuals with skills development sessions and for longer-standing members opportunities to create and present new work with Associate Artist and Production Director, Lee Hart.
Our Space Programme Manager, Becky Ormrod, said:
“We are so excited for this year’s company to debut in The Drum with this bold new production. Throughout rehearsals, we are seeing the cast grow in confidence and put the skills they have learned in the programme into practice.
They are joined by a brilliant professional team of creatives to support their vision and bring it to the stage. We’re so proud of all the Our Space members and can’t wait to share this exciting new production with local audiences!”
This year’s cohort, for the first time, will incorporate other strands of the programme including the Armed Forces Community.
