Plymouth Albion have confirmed the return of two influential players as the club begins shaping its squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
Angus Hodges and Jago Sheppard have both signed new deals to remain at Brickfields, providing a boost for fans and coaches alike following a promising fourth-place finish in National League 1.
Hodges, a back row forward with more than 50 Albion appearances to his name, has been a mainstay since joining the club in 2022. Originally from West Sussex but now based in Bude, the 27-year-old has notched up over 100 senior appearances across the National Leagues. Although his 2024/25 season was curtailed by injury, his consistency and leadership have made him a key figure in the side’s recent progress.

Angus Said:
“It’s a very exciting time to be involved in the club. We’ve had a lot of local young talent coming into the setup over the past couple of seasons, and I can’t wait to see where this group can take things!”
Joining him in re-committing to Albion is rising talent Jago Sheppard, who impressed in his first season at Brickfields with 20 appearances, the majority in a starting role. At just 21, the 6’4” back rower has already gained international experience in Australia and was part of the Cornwall side that lifted the U20 County Championship.
Jago Said:
“I’m really looking forward to signing my contract for next season. The fans this year have been unbelievable and supported us regardless of the outcome. I’ve loved being part of the squad this season and can’t wait to get stuck into next year.”
The double signing brings the tally of confirmed returning players for the 2025/26 season to five, as head coach Ryan Lamb looks to retain stability in a squad that made significant strides this past season. The announcement is the latest in a series of positive developments for the club, which continues to rebuild both on and off the pitch.
With growing support and a focus on nurturing local talent, Plymouth Albion are positioning themselves as serious contenders as they prepare for the next chapter in their National League 1 campaign.
