Organisers of the South West’s newest major boat show have confirmed Plymouth Boat Fest will return in 2026 following a strong debut last year.
The inaugural event attracted more than 50 exhibiting companies and 30 vessels, bringing together marine technology, leisure boating, services, conservation groups and maritime organisations from across the region.
Plymouth Boat Fest 2025 takes place on Saturday June 20 at Plymouth Yacht Haven, with organisers already outlining ambitious plans to expand the show in 2026.
“Last year was a great starting point for Plymouth Boat Fest,”
said event organiser Steve Cox from Plymouth Yacht Haven.
“It became a showcase for the West Country’s broad maritime sector, with companies keen not only to display their vessels, products and services, but also to engage with the local community around future skills and employment.”
Organisers say the 2026 event will build on these foundations with increased ticket capacity and an expanded programme of on-water demonstrations, following strong demand from visitors and exhibitors.
Early plans include the growth of the Marine Technology Zone, highlighting Plymouth’s rising profile in marine autonomy. Supported by Turnchapel Wharf, home of UK maritime autonomy, the zone will feature demonstrations of remotely operated and autonomous vessels, alongside on-water displays showcasing the sector’s capabilities.
The on-water exhibition area is also set to expand, with additional pontoon space allowing more vessels to be displayed. Exhibitors at the 2025 event included Princess Motor Yacht Sales, The Island Trust’s 96ft tallship, the Plymouth RNLI lifeboat, Wolf Rock Boat Company and vessels from Cattewater Harbour Commissioners.
To support the festival’s long-term growth, organisers have launched a standalone website dedicated exclusively to Plymouth Boat Fest. The platform brings together exhibitor information, visitor guides, ticketing details and the latest event updates.
“Creating a standalone website underlines our ambition to grow the show year on year and provide a central hub for everyone involved,”
