Two dedicated team members from Plymouth-based charity Pregnancy Crisis Care have been shortlisted for the West Country Women’s Awards in the Health & Social Care category.
Pregnancy Crisis Care has provided free counselling and support for people facing pregnancy-related crisis or loss for more than 15 years.
The charity now helps over 200 people each year, many of whom attend multiple sessions over several months. Despite a waiting list, the centre currently offers shorter waiting times than most other mental health services.

Recognising the work of Jane Frajbis and Sarah Hill
The award nominations celebrate the contribution of Centre Manager and Counsellor, Jane Frajbis, and Counsellor and Administrator, Sarah Hill.
Jane has been with the charity since its launch in 2008, helping to shape its vision and lead the team. Sarah has also played a key role for many years, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while counselling clients.

Speaking about the nominations, Jane said:
“Although this is emotional work, we consider it such an honour and privilege to support those in crisis or facing devastating loss. These nominations are such an encouragement to us all, and we greatly appreciate those who so kindly nominated us.”
Community support keeps the service running
The team credits much of its success to volunteer counsellors and the ongoing support of the local community.
Pregnancy Crisis Care is now encouraging more people to get involved, whether through fundraising, volunteering, or seeking help.
