Plymouth Eurovision fans will be able to enjoy the spectacle of Europe’s biggest song contest on the big screen next month, as three city cinemas prepare to broadcast the Grand Final live.
Cineworld, Vue, and Everyman in Plymouth will join more than 100 venues across the UK on Saturday 17 May, offering a communal viewing experience for what’s become a staple in the international music calendar.

The Eurovision Song Contest, which will this year be hosted in Basel, Switzerland, is returning to cinemas for a third year running as part of a nationwide initiative led by CinemaLive in partnership with the BBC.
The decision to host screenings comes as interest in the event continues to grow, with last year’s contest drawing in over 160 million viewers worldwide.
John Travers of CinemaLive, which is distributing the live cinema broadcast, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with the BBC to bring Eurovision’s Grand Final live into cinemas across the UK for the third year in a row. There’s simply no better way to enjoy the biggest night in music than in a cinema, surrounded by fellow fans. Audiences attending the cinema screenings will be encouraged to take part in singalongs and fancy dress, with the final featuring 26 acts from across Europe and beyond. The UK’s entry this year comes from pop trio Remember Monday with their track What The Hell Just Happened?
Switzerland, which won last year’s contest with Nemo’s The Code, will host for the first time since 1989. The event will be broadcast live from 8pm.
