A new veterinary practice dedicated exclusively to cats has opened in Plymouth. The Plymouth Cat Clinic is the first feline-only clinic in Devon and Cornwall and has been awarded Gold Accreditation under icatcare.org’s Cat Friendly Clinic programme.
The Plymouth Cat Clinic has been established by veterinary surgeons Dr Jo Nott and Dr Nikolai Athron, who have more than 30 years of combined experience. Dr Athron is one of only 18 RCVS-recognised Advanced Practitioners in small animal dentistry in the UK, while Dr Nott, originally from Plymouth, is due to begin a certificate in feline medicine this year.
Facilities and Approach
The clinic provides facilities tailored to feline patients, including a dental suite, an in-house laboratory, and kennels designed for cat welfare. Health plans are also available, aimed at supporting cats through different life stages.
Plymouth Cat Clinic Practice Ethos
The clinic says its ethos, referred to as the ‘Trifecta Purr-fecta,’ focuses on three areas:
- Delivering high-quality veterinary care for cats
- Communicating clearly with clients
- Supporting staff through a positive workplace environment
Dr Jo Nott of Plymouth Cat Clinic Said:
“We believe cats deserve a dedicated space where they feel safe, and owners deserve clear, compassionate guidance,”
“Plymouth now joins cities like London, Oxford and Manchester in offering truly feline-focused veterinary services.”

The practice has also indicated plans to work with local animal charities including Cats Protection, Gables, and Woodside.
