A lucky couple are busy planning a once-in-a-lifetime holiday to Las Vegas after scooping £300,000 on a Luxury Lines National Lottery Scratchcard.

Robert Kittle, 58, and Julie Goodwin, 63, from Plymouth, described the feeling as “surreal” as they scratched off their winning symbols.

First on the list for the pair is booking their dream trip to Las Vegas, ticking off the “must-visit” destination on their bucket list. They are looking forward to jetting off with Julie’s two daughters and their families, as a special treat for the whole family next year.

Robert, who works as a construction worker, said,

“We have talked about going to Las Vegas for a long time and it’s been a dream of ours to go together, so being able to make it a reality is amazing. We never thought we’d get to go but to be able to take our family is an incredible feeling and we can’t wait to make those memories all together.”

Describing the moment he realised he had won, Robert said,

“I nipped to the shops to pick up a newspaper, but they didn’t have any left – when I saw the scratchcards I thought, ‘why not?’

“I honestly just couldn’t believe it when I started scratching off the symbols and saw that I had won…I checked it over and over, and even got my family members to double check before we realised that we’d won such a huge amount.

“It was very surreal seeing that amount of money in front of me!”

Robert and Julie, who have seven children, 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren between them, are now taking some time to think about how else they would like to treat themselves and their family following their win.

“As well as being able to treat our family, we’re looking forward to being able to enjoy some financial security in the future and have some of the stress of money taken away – it still doesn’t feel real!”
