Plymouth is one of eight cities up and down the country staging the WALK IT event to raise funds and awareness for Crohn’s & Colitis UK.
This year the event starts and finishes on The Hoe on Saturday July 13 and organisers are hoping that the fabulous turn out last year will be repeated – or even bettered this year.
Last year a total of 230 walkers to part, covering either the 5km or 10km route around some of the city’s favourite locations. Their efforts raised a total of £11,000.
People can register as an individual or as a team and will receive a free t-shirt with the £14 registration fee. Children are £7 to register and they also get a free WALK IT t-shirt.
Walkers are being challenged to raise £100 or more – a sum which could help pay for 2,000 people to get the information they need about Crohn’s and Colitis.
Walkers will explore the city’s sights before returning to the event village at The Hoe for a great afternoon of fun, food and entertainment.
Organisers are also keen to hear from volunteers who can help on the day.
