Plymouth Albion kept the pressure on National League 1 leaders with a dominant 60–26 victory over Rams RFC at Brickfields. More than 4,000 supporters watched Albion run in eight tries to move within one point of the top of the table with four games remaining.
Plymouth Albion strengthened their National League 1 title challenge with an emphatic 60–26 win over Rams RFC at Brickfields.
In front of a crowd of more than 4,000 during the club’s St Luke’s Men’s Day Out event, Albion produced a powerful attacking performance, scoring eight tries to secure a bonus-point victory.
Rams opened the scoring early through number eight Wilko Bicknell, but Albion quickly responded and took control of the first half. Tries from Ben Moa, Noah Fenton and Huw Taylor helped the home side build momentum and secure the four-try bonus point before the interval.
Albion continued their dominance after the break. Taylor added his second try of the match, while Ben Moa completed a hat-trick in a standout performance for the hosts.
Further tries from co-captain Jack Oulton and substitute Gabe Mead extended the lead as Albion pushed past 50 points in a commanding display.
Rams scored late to secure a bonus point, but Albion comfortably closed out a 60–26 victory.
Elsewhere in National League 1, leaders Blackheath defeated Rotherham Titans 22–15, leaving Plymouth Albion just one point off the top of the table with four matches remaining.
Albion travel to Rotherham next weekend for a crucial clash that could prove decisive in the race for the league title.
