
Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar has opened a new retail location in Plymouth, marking another step in the brand’s UK expansion.
The Polestar Plymouth site will serve as a regional hub for prospective buyers to explore the company’s design-led EV range and access in-person consultations.

The showroom “Polestar Space” is designed around a minimalist customer experience, offering test drives of the Polestar 2 fastback, Polestar 3 SUV, and the new Polestar 4 SUV coupé. Visitors will be able to engage with specialists, tailor their preferred vehicle specifications, and arrange delivery either to their home or workplace.
Polestar UK’s Managing Director, Matt Galvin, said:

The South West has become one of the UK’s most rapidly advancing areas for EV adoption, with Plymouth in particular committing to net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. Plymouth City Council recently invested over £2.4 million in charging infrastructure, including 40 rapid EV stations. These initiatives aim to support residents without access to off-street parking and promote greener transport solutions.

The new site at Language Business Park, Plympton, PL7 5JY joins a growing number of Polestar retail locations across the UK, reinforcing the company’s ambition to support the transition to electric mobility through accessible design and sustainability-focused innovation.
Polestar is not the only car brand expanding its presence in Plymouth. Motor retailer Vertu Motors has recently opened a new £3.6 million Volvo dealership in Plymstock, the first time the brand has returned to the city in 17 years.
