Children’s Hospice South West has re-opened its Plymouth charity shop on Mutley Plain after a full refurbishment.

The Children’s Hospice South West shop has been redesigned throughout, with changes to the layout aimed at making the space easier to shop in and more practical for staff and volunteers.

Area Retail Manager Jerome Browne said the work marked a fresh start for the store.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming back local customers and donors after the refit,” he said. “The shop has been updated with new fixtures and fittings and a lighter, more open feel.”

The Plymouth shop has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to support children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Money raised helps fund Children’s Hospice South West’s three hospices: Little Bridge House in North Devon, Charlton Farm in North Somerset and Little Harbour in Cornwall.

Shop Manager Jeanette Barrett said customers had already responded positively to the changes.

“We hope people like the new look and continue to support the shop,” she said. “That might be by shopping, donating items, volunteering, or simply coming in to find out more about the charity.”

The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 5pm, and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Donations can be dropped off during opening hours, with larger quantities asked to call ahead on 01752 221 990 or email plymouth.shop@chsw.org.uk
